COVID-19 UPDATE

As expected, amendments must be made to our usual operational procedures. Please review the below so you know what to expect and to allow us to maintain best practice during these challenging times. Our aim is to safeguarding your and our staff's health and minimise the risk of infection. This however is only possible with your help.. 

Course timings: 

  • RYA Powerboat Level 1 or Level 2  =  09:30 - 17:00 / 17:30 each day 
  • Bespoke Tuition: TBC

 

Prior to the course: 

  • Each student to Complete eMedical declaration form - SEE RED TAB BELOW
  • Own Vessel Tuition eDeclaration form to be completed by owner/skipper - See button below

What to bring: 

  • Items listed on the 'Own boat tuition kit requirements' download below
  • Summer: Warm jumper/ jacket, sunglasses, suncream, cap
  • Winter: warm clothing, including a hat, gloves etc
  • Lifejacket (150N) or Buoyancy aid (50N) 
  • Wet weather gear 
  • Packed lunch & drinks 
  • Passport photo with your name printed on the reverse (Powerboat Level 2 ONLY)
  • Face covering
  • Hand sanitiser

EXTRA COVID-19 GUIDANCE:

DO NOT attend training if you or a member of your household have or develop COVID-19 symptoms

DO NOT attend training if you are vulnerable, at risk or advised to shield

DO NOT take public transport where possible

DO carry out additional hygiene measures

DO maintain social distancing (2 metres+)

DO use face covering when unable to social distance to 2m

DO be conscientious about not touching your face & during a cough or sneeze, do so into your elbow 

DO dispose of PPE responsibly

DO expect theory session to be completed outside 

DO be understanding of your instructors requests in order to maintain safety

DAY 1: Personal equipment and buoyancy, Introduction to the boat & equipment, familiarisation, holding off, picking up a mooring, man overboard recovery, marina work

 

RYA Powerboat Level 2

DAY 1 : Personal equipment and buoyancy, Introduction to the boat & equipment, familiarisation, holding off, picking up a mooring, man overboard recovery, turning in a confined space, marina work

DAY 2: Pilotage/passage planning, Anchoring, Rules of the road, Emergency actions, Planing speed
