RYA Powerboat level 2 direct assessment, Poole


The RYA Powerboat Level 2 Direct Assessment is a 0.5 day assessment or 0.5 day training (to brush up your existing skills) + 0.5 day assessment allowing you to gain your RYA Powerboat Level 2 Certificate and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence (I.C.C.)

If you have previous powerboat handling experience and want to gain your RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate then this is the one for you! 

Pre-requisites

Previous Experience: Powerboat handling experience and background knowledge

Minimum Age (Boston Whaler): 14 years*

Minimum Age (own boat): 12 years*

* those aged between 12-15 years will receive an endorsed certificate.

  • Launching & Recovery
  • Boat handling at low & higher speed
  • Securing to a buoy
  • Man overboard
  • Anchoring
  • Leaving & coming alongside (marina handling)
  • Basic Navigation & passage planning
  • IRPCS (road rules)
  • Weather & Tides

  • Experienced RYA instructor
  • RYA Start powerboat handbook per person

  • Maximum 3 students on any assessment
