Failure to hold a valid Ship Radio licence is a criminal offence and Ofcom's enforcement team can impose on the spot fines. The maximum penalty on conviction is a £5000 and/or a six month prison sentence. Find out more at www.ofcom.org.uk

Launching in March 2015 'RYA Safe & Fun' course will become a compulsory pre-requiste for new RYA Dinghy, Keelboat, Multihull and windsurf instructors and Senior instructors on the 1st April 2015. The NCI has been allocated a licence by OFCOM for the use of channel 65. This will allow communication between NCI lookouts and seafarers on a variety of matters.
